Horseshoe Bend and Zion NP | Las Vegas
We left our hotel at the base of the Vermillion Cliffs and quickly crossed over the Colorado River. This shot was taken from the historic Navajo Bridge. |
The one mile trail to the Horseshoe Bend overlook started with a steep climb in red sand. |
![]() A panoramic view of the scene on the way to Horseshoe Bend... the overlook is straight ahead... |
![]() The money shot! This is one of those places that looks just as magnificent in person as it does on film. This panorama is composed of four different shots. I imagine this hike is best to do early in the morning for the best light, we arrived just before 10am. |
We had some choices on the route back, but we decided to go back through Zion NP so we could do one more hike near the tunnel. The view from the Canyon Overlook trail back in Zion National Park was amazing and a wonderful way to end the hiking portion of our trip. It definitely seemed longer than the posted one mile roundtrip, however. |
There was an abundance of wildflowers in bloom while we were there but Zion certainly had the most variety. This concluded the hiking portion of the trip, so it was time to head back to Vegas... ![]() |
