Scotland 2018: long layover in London

Continuing the trend of nice weather on this trip, we were treated to a beautiful sunny day in London. We thought heading towards the Thames would be a good way to enjoy the weather, so we decided to start at Bishops Park and Fulham Palace.

Unfortunately, the famous walled garden was already closed by the time we got there, but we could peek in through several of the gates.

After a quick stop for some gelato we headed toward All Saints, Fulham, via the Thames riverside walk.

We had a few hours before our dinner reservations, so we decided to try out several pubs along the mile long walk. First was the Kings Arms in Fulham, which had a nice outdoor patio and friendly bartenders. Next, we tried to get into the The White Horse on Parsons Green, but it was absolutely packed on the patio. Instead we went across the park to Duke on the Green which had one table left outside, and a nice wine list (small and large pours available). People watching was great, and we really liked the neighbourhood vibe of the area.

Our finally stop was for dinner at Vicino, a cozy Italian restaurant up the road. Everything we had here was amazing, from the carbonara to the tiramisu, every bit as good as the meals we’ve had in Italy.

Full and content we shuffled off to the metro station and our hotel for our last night in the UK of this trip.
