Room
I read this on my most recent flight to London. Not only was it a quick read but I found myself thinking about the characters event after I was finished. This novel is written from the perspective of a 5-year-old boy who only knows an 11 x 11 foot room that he has shared with his mother for his entire life. Through their conversations, we learn how they ended up there and what the future has in store for them. I loved the suspense and fully admit to crying at the end.

My friend Megan gave me this book and I spent the last few weeks reading a few chapters here and there at lunch and before bed. I like that the author uses scripture to begin conversations and make connections with each of the people she interviews but I felt the book could have used a better editor. The best story was the first one with the shepherdess, all the other fell a little flat with me. One good outcome was an opportunity to think a little extra about God’s work each day.
