In October we saw that a band we really like (Snow Patrol) was going to tour North America in 2025. They weren’t playing anywhere in NC, so we looked through the available options. Boston looked like a good fit, with a Saturday night show, a reasonably priced floor ticket (with all-in Ticketmaster pricing), and the option to use our Southwest miles to get us there for free. Altogether we were in Boston for about 40 hours, arriving in the early evening on a Friday, and leaving on Sunday morning.
While were in town we stayed at the Kimpton Marlowe in Cambridge. Check-in was easy, and since we booked on points we didn’t have to pay the $30 ‘resort fee’ per day. We were also given a $10 bar and restaurant credit, so on Friday night we split a Old Fashioned.
Our room on the 8th floor was reasonably comfortable, no real complaints, and had a nice view toward downtown.
Kimptons are known for a wine hour between 5-6p, so we stopped in the lobby before heading out to dinner on Saturday. The coffee in the lobby in the mornings was good, according to Leandra.
The location was OK, a few blocks from a tram line and walking distance to downtown and MIT.
One plus about flying out of Boston was getting to use the Chase Sapphire Reserve lounge the morning we left. Lots of free food, some of which you can order via QR code for delivery right to your seat.
