Lenz Winery
We’ve been members for years, and we love visiting in the summer in the shaded courtyard. Service was great as always across our four visits!
- On our first visit with our friend Leah, we sat outside in the courtyard. Eric and I got some samples of the reds (me) and whites (him) that were open and then we chatted over a bottle of the sparkling Cuveé.
- Second visit with family and sat inside this time as it was very muggy out. Neil, Nicole and Alissa got one of each of the available tastings to try a variety of wines. Eric and I split a bottle of the Cuveé and then the whole table shared a bottle of the Old Vines Gewürztraminer while we relaxed before our dinner reservation.
- On our third visit we sat outside and ordered a bottle of the Firefly Petillant Naturel (Sparkling Rosé) and chocolate chip cookies. We left with three more bottles to enjoy at home.
- Our last visit with Eric’s parents was also relaxed enjoyed with a bottle of the cuvee and the chocolate chip cookies, chatting outside in the courtyard.
Greenport Brewing Company (Peconic location)
We stopped in on a warm Sunday afternoon to try their beer. Wow, the prices – $9.23 for a 12 oz pour! The half and full growler prices are a better deal ($13.32 / $18.45). We found an outside spot in the back away from the crowds but it got too buggy so we eventually moved inside. My Soundings #4: Dopplebock was nice, with roasted malts and some sweetness and Eric liked the Bramble Paradise, a fruited sour, but it was very light.
Riverhead Tap House
Stopped in for a beer after dinner nearby, and we made it just in time for Happy Hour. All draft beer is $5, priced down from $8.50. We got the Riverhead Cider House Mac Daddy cider and a Guinness and sat outside on a breezy night.
Corey Creek Tap Room
One of our favorite finds from last summer, we packed sandwiches for dinner and headed over on a Thursday evening. We were surprised to see the prices increased $6 per bottle from last year and they weren’t filling bottles from a tap anymore. There were also signs up ‘forbidding’ outside food. We found the syrah rosé pleasant enough but light and while the setting is quite pretty, we don’t feel the value is there for future visits. Huge bummer.
North Fork Brewing
Our favorite brewery in the area, we stopped in on a Friday afternoon and the staff was friendly as always. I got the Sir Franklin Meowington Scottish ale and Eric got the Interstellar Apricot Sour. Both delicious. Love that they are close to downtown with a dedicated parking lot. Still the most creative and consistently good brewery on the North Fork.
