Friday
We wanted to check out Charlestown, and Blackmoor Bar and Kitchen looked like a good starting point on the edge of the neighborhood. They were busy with several large groups, but we found two spots at the bar. I got an Allagash White, Leandra a Belgian Delirium Tremens, and we split a tasty fig and prosciutto pizza.
After dinner we explored the neighborhood, then tried go to Warren Tavern, but it was packed and noisy. Instead we tried Sullivan’s Public House around the corner and it was much nicer! Leandra got a reasonably priced Old Fashioned ($11) and Eric got the seasonal amber.
Saturday
For breakfast, 2nd Street Cafe was closed due a large order (!), so we ended up at Little Luna Cafe near MIT instead. They were out of Leandra’s original choice, the steak burrito, so she pivoted to lox bagel instead. I had the bacon egg and cheese with rosemary fries. Very filling!
For dinner we had reservations at Filippo Ristorante & Bar. It was very busy when we arrived at 6:30p, but cleared out after 7:30. I ordered the chicken parmesan and a Pecorino wine, and Leandra went for the Paul Revere lobster ravioli (red sauce) with a Montepulciano wine. The interior was quite quirky, and the food was decent overall.
