The Circuito Chico is a 25km circular scenic drive with hikes and lake views, easily accessible by car from Bariloche. Our first stop was the Centro Campanario hike, straight uphill in powdery dirt for 1km. This hike kicked my butt. Thankfully there were several shady spots to stop and get my heart rate down. Some people paid the $15K for the ‘aerosilla’ lift to the top, but quite a lot of people suffered the climb up too!
The views from the top were amazing though!
And very windy!
Laguna El Trébol and Laguna Moreno
Continuing along the circuit drive, we stopped at Parroquia San Eduardo, a small wooden church with great views.
And a few other overlooks, including the famous Llao Llao Hotel.
We stopped at Gilbert for a half pint each, IPA (grassy and fruity, not bitter) and porter, which came with a small bowl of peanuts. There was a huge bus load of people inside but the outside was empty so we found a picnic table in the shade and enjoyed the hen antics.
Unfortunately we had to get the car back before 4pm or we wouldn’t be able to enter the parking garage. So we got some gas and headed back to our apartment for laundry and chill out time.
