Midwest 2020: family time in the Chicago ‘burbs

Spending time with my sister and her four girls is always an adventure — exhausting but fun. I spent the majority of my aunt time baking with everyone (cinnamon rolls, cake pops, etc) and Eric was the play-time jungle gym (“pick me up! my turn!”).

Because we had Pasha with us we couldn’t stay with them (due to allergies) so pup spent her time between sleeping in the car and running around the backyard. All the while being admired by curious children. She was a trooper for sure.

spying on Pasha; hi doggie!

The three oldest are just helpful enough to cook with, although everything takes a magnitude longer between divvying up responsibilities and taking turns mixing, etc.

But look at those gorgeous cake pops! (They tasted as good as they looked.)

Eric meanwhile was getting all of his exercise in by lifting and throwing giggling girls in the air. :)

We also decorated Wii remotes, played sports (both outside and inside), made art projects, and generally goofed off. It was a blast!
