first floor renovations, part I

As the screened porch project neared completion we got to thinking about the kitchen improvements we wanted to make. So, over the past few weeks we’ve picked out new bamboo flooring and quartz countertops, and found someone to paint our cabinets and add new hardware. If things go according to plan all should be complete by mid-November, and it may be dusty around here for a few weeks.

The downstairs half bathroom will also be getting the new bamboo floors, so we are taking this opportunity to also change out the sink cabinet for smaller unit and new water-saving toilet. Eric spent a good hour wrestling with the sink and cabinet backing to get the space cleared out. I plan to spend tomorrow sanding the walls and priming for a fresh coat of bright green color.
