This morning,
our waiter, Don, mentioned that the people with nametags wandering
around the resort were attending an Anthony Robbins seminar. Essentially,
most of these middle-aged people were trying to overcome obstacles
in their life by "challenging themselves." Most were
wearing pins with "I JUMPED IT" and "EAT THE POLE."
At least it made for some interesting people watching!

Eric made reservations
for us to play tennis this morning at 10am. After kicking people
off our court, I think I played some pretty good tennis. Our court
was next to two pro women warming up for their matches later in
the day. We started out playing right at the net (I think to prevent
me from injuring a pro tennis player) until I got comfortable enough
to move to half court then full court. There must be something about
Hawaii because I was hitting the ball darn well.

We
finished after 45 minutes, then watched 2 pros play while cooling
down on the grass right behind Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario. Eric noticed
that "Arantxa" was stitched into her Reeboks. After a quickie
shower we went snorkeling in the lagoon beach area of the hotel. Afterwards
I laid out in the sun for a bit and managed to contribute to the sunburn
I got this morning during tennis.

The
habit of a buffet breakfast, snacks at noon (usually cookies), free
hor d'oeuvres at 5pm followed by dinner at 6pm suits us well. |
We
went to dinner at Donatoni's (just below Kirin) on the water for
another sunset and some great pasta. There was a little mix-up with
the price but our waitress, Angel, easily fixed it. After dark we
wandered around the resort and took some nighttime photos of various
scenes on our side of the hotel. Back in our room, Eric caught up
on some email and I tried to keep my journal current.
